UN Replies to my Letter to Disclose WT's Files

  I have been advised of your request for information regarding the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society and its association with the United Nations Department of Public Information. Either directly or through other UN offices, we continue to receive duplicate requests for information and we have posted the relevant information, as permitted in accordance with UN procedures, on our web site www.un.org/dpi/ngosection.

  While we appreciate your concerns, please note that this is an internal affair of your organization and, as the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society is no longer associated with the United Nations, you must resolve the matter within your organization.

  Please share this information with your colleagues, as we are no longer able to address the requests regarding this matter on an individual basis.

  Thank you for your interest in the work of the United Nations.

  This was on response to hawkaw's draft letter to the UN. It seems they had it with letter campains.

  Paul Hoeffel is getting annoyed. You won't get any further directly through him and going over his head to ambassadors or other sources will only piss him off. I would hate to see him take down the letter in retaliation.

  No he was annoyed in 2001 and he was really pi$$ed off in 2001.

  But of course he wrote to us in 2001 and then in 2002 and now its up on the internet in 2004.

  It is just continuation.

  No one should be surprised by this. They said as much in the last letter that was posted here. They don't want to deal with hundreds of the same letter.
