From the Watchtower Jan 15, 2005 pg 20, paragraph 21, "Foregleams of God's Kingdom Become a Reality":

Some now associated with Jehovah's people have allowed their spiritual vision to grow dim. Could it be that they lack patience or endurance, as did some of Jesus' early disciples? Have the anxieties of life, materialism, or persecution affected them? (Matthew 13:3-8, 18-23; Luke 21:34-36) Perhaps some have found information published by "the faithful and discreet slave" hard to grasp. If any of this has happened to you, we urge you to study God's Word with renewed zeal and supplicate Jehovah so that you may regain a strong, close relationship with him. - 2 Peter 3:11-15.

A bit ironic that in this same article the WTS targets "false religion" with this stab (paragraph 15):

Today, though, the churches are reaping what they have sown. Many seem to be losing their power as well as their parishioners. Such a trend is quite noticable in Europe...The same trend can be observed in other parts of the world. What does this betoken for false religion? Will it just die from lack of support?

Thus we begin the spin on the lackluster 2004 Annual Report due in the very next Watchtower.

"Could it be that they lack patience or endurance" = 1914 generation change of doctrine

"some have found information published by "the faithful and discreet slave" hard to grasp" = 1914 generation change of doctrine

    Betoken indeed.

"some have found information published by "the faithful and discreet slave" hard to grasp"

I found the information that they ARE "the faithful and discreet slave" impossible to grasp. By the way, I don't see any evidence that they have been faithful or discreet.

That is such BS writing. They never say specifically what people are having trouble with.

That's not surprising. If they took any true stock in what the R\F were thinking about them instead of steadily piling thinly veiled accusations and guilt upon them, they would find out that they themselves are the source of the very problems they are now dealing with.

If they took a poll anonymously, so that the JW won't feel the need to lie for the sake of the organization's image, they're so arrogant they'd be hard pressed to assume any responsibility for how they treat them.

"some have found information published by "the faithful and discreet slave" hard to grasp", and some just make believe they grasp it, so they don't look stupid, in fact the faithful and descreet slave have themselves also found it hard to grasp,, but they know Jehovah is backing them up because they are after all "the faithful and descreet slave".

Not True Elsewhere. Let's dissect this bit of Franken-speak. (The song "Monster Mash" plays in the background for your listening pleasure)

(Chorus, " He did the mash.....singing, " He did the monster mash")

First they identify the problem as "dim spiritual vision". Then, they throw in a couple of character flaw jabs, "they lack patience or endurance"

And, then a nice little link to history provides an intellectual illusion of scholarship to continue the mental mash: "as did some of Jesus' early disciples." Read: Cowardly Peter before he was empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Then, circumstances common to all humans globally are brought in: "Have the anxieties of life, materialism, or persecution affected them"?

    Lets review shall we?

    1. Dim Spiritual vision = mental ineptitude (means you're a possible idiot)

    2. lacking patience or endurance = serious character flaws (means you quite possibly might be an ass)

    3. like some early diciples = (Jeff Foxworthy) - You might be like impetuous Peter if....you question us.

    4. Anxieties and materialism = means you're a freak because no one else is anxious or concerned with material things.

Now Dr. Frankenstein has prepared the monster mash (singing: "It caught on in a flash") and is ready feed it along with stating the real problem:

Perhaps some have found information published by "the faithful and discreet slave" hard to grasp.

YES!, YES! (Screams the uneducated young writer in the WT writing dept..... Dr. Frankenstein's day job). It's those damn mentally deficient, character flawed, impatient assholes who are too worried about paying their bills on janitor income that can't "grasp" what the society is saying!

    Lightening Flashes Forth:

I was working in the lab late one night
When my eyes beheld an eerie sight
For my monster from his slab began to rise
    And suddenly to my surprise

    He ate the mash
    He ate the monster mash
    The monster mash
    It was a graveyard smash
    He ate the mash
It caught on in a flash
    He ate the mash
    He ate the monster mash

In other words, the latest accounts show that donations are down! Whenever they realise the coffers are down they stir the flock up into doing more, more, more..........................
