    OK so let's play what if. . . ?

What if we are wrong in saying that the WTS and JWs are not handling sexual abuse cases properly?

    • People won't believe us. In fact few JWs would believe us.
    • Some people might believe it and take extra precautiions.
    • Some JWs might decide to go to the police before they call an elder
    • Some kids might get the help they need
    • Some sexual abusers might go to jail
    • Some abusers might start abusing non-JW kids

What if you are wrong about how the WTS and JWs handle abuse allegations?

    • Abuse allegations will be qietly dealt with and no one will find out.
    • Abusers will be free to find new victims or continue to abuse the ones he already has.
    • Personally I would rather that people are warned that there are sexual abusers in the congregations (alleged or found guilty in a court of law). I would prefer that those parents make sure the abuser never has access to their children

Accepting that the WTS is wrong about something as important as this makes me wonder what else they are wrong about? This website has a very well documented section of issues that demonstrate clearly just how wrong the WTS is about almost everything.

So help me out folks. Answer the questions.

    • What if the WTS/JWs are wrong?
    • What if you are wrong about them?
    • What would that mean to you?

I will add some thoughts later on

The Wt. Society would have to prove and vouch for each new member and has been thoroughly screened with their existing Baptismal catechism.

CRBs should be compulsory for all JWs who go on the ministry with children. There are no exemptions in the UK these days. I have no idea how they've gotten away with not enforcing this so far.

" Baptism constitutes our ordination as ministers."________Organized to do Jehovah's will book page 78

"Do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah's witnesses in association with God's spirit -directed organization".______Organized to do Jehovah' will book page 215

Those statements alone should hold the WTS fully responsible for Kendrick, and any other abuser within the cong

by these statements they are associated as ordained ministers of the WTS

Just like the Catholic priest are associated as ordained ministers of the Catholic church

What if they are wrong about being spirit annointed?

Then they are no different than any other religion. "We don't WANT yo' money, we NEEEEED yo' money." And God isn't directing them in the least.

What if they are wrong about 1914?

Ok, so 1914 originally was supposed to be the coming of Armageddon and we KNOW that was wrong.

As to the invisible return of Christ, that doesn't seem to be panning out either. So, this then leads one to conclude that being wrong about this means that Christ did not choose them as God's Organization.

What if they are wrong about blood?

They are and they are blood guilty. And they owe my family big time. It means they are essentially, murderers at worst, and manslaughterers in the least. This means they are criminals.

What if they are wrong about. . . ?

Then you have no course of action but to not listen to them and not join, or leave if you have already been sucked in or were born in. And here's why.

In my family, my parents were unable to answer my questions. Neither were other JWs.

When you have an incorrect foundation and your beliefs are based on incorrect ideals and facts that have elevated you above everyone else because you are God's Chosen, you become do-nothing, disabled, holier-than-thou, mean-spirited people. This is what happened to my parents.

The Watchtower's ladder is against the wrong wall. Hence, they ARE wrong. And cannot be trusted.

Heaven has it. If they are wrong and we come to believe they are wrong then they lose ower over us.

A few years ago I was talking to my sister. At that point in her life she was a serious addict who had trashed her life every way possible. She had tried to commit suicide many times.

I tried talking to her about one source of her problems - being raised a JW. I started to tell her some of the things I had learned. She had not been to a meeting in many years and wanted nothing to do with the JWs. Somethign she said really struck me.

She said that she could never be a "good JW" therefore she was going to be bad at everything. And from her teen years on for the next 20 years she did her best to drown out her feelings and memories of growing up in an abusive JW home.

She still believed they were right; that they had the truth and that she would die at Armageddon. She would never be good enough so she wasn't even going to try.

She could not listen to any information that destroyed that old belief that the JWs were right.

She did not want to know it was all a lie.

She did not want to believe she had destroyued her life over a lie.

If you give up the belief that the WTS and JWs are right then you are left with nothing. Years sacrificed for nothing. A life sacrificed for nothing. An education. A career. Maybe a family.

It takes a lot of courage to ask yourself "What if...?" and then to try to find out.

Too often people come here who aren't going to meetings but they post and defend the WTS and JWs. But they have never asked themselves "What if. . . ?"

Maybe that is the question we need to ask them.

Unable to ask that question, my sister finally succeeding in commiting suicide.
