Are YOU: rh negative ?
by RAYZORBLADE ini have always found the topic of blood/hematology, fascinating, and even moreso, the discussions regarding: rh compatibility.. are you rh negative?
if so, do you know your alpha designation: o, a, b, or ab ?.
even if someone is not interested, nor willing to take a blood transfusion, if you are a woman, and you are rh negative, and your husband/partner is rh positive, you can bet your bottom dollar, it'll matter in the near future.

K I S S
by RAYZORBLADE inya know.....when i was becoming a good little dubby back in the mid 1970s, these guys were well on their way to stardom.. honestly, i liked them, even then.
but i seldom listened to them while i was a full fledged brain dead witless.. kiss: knights in satans service - and all sorts of madness related to their acronym.. in 1977, i remember just as i started attending meetings, there was an assembly in moncton, new brunswick, canada.
the night before the assembly, kiss performed there.

Banjo
by RAYZORBLADE ini know some of you, especially those of you who were born before the 1970s, will remember the movie deliverance.. this is not about that, but in i have to say, for some reason, i have always been intrigued if not almost in-love with the instrument: the banjo.. one of the worlds most renowned banjo players was originally from northeastern new brunswick, canada: mr. maurice bolyer, from the le republic de madawaska (across the river from aroostook county, maine, usa).. that man, when i heard some of his recordings, i swear he could pop the cap off of a beer bottle, or any bottle for that matter.. i have considered learning how to play the banjo.. i know it has roots in western africa, which to me, makes it all that much more worthwhile to give'r a go.. dunno, but you have to marvel at the intense pickin' that goes on when you hear the banjo.
in the north american picture, the banjo really carried on well into the fabric of 'roots' music here (canada/usa).
merci monsieur bolyer, and so many other amazing north american banjo players.

Infant Circumcision
by RAYZORBLADE ini figured that this topic must come up from time to time; especially moreso over here in north america.. as some of you are well aware, i posted a lovely thread about the upcoming birth about my nephew.. i'm thrilled about him, i simply just can't wait.. anyways, having been born here in north america, specifically: canada.
circumcision was common, if not all the rage in the 1950s, and 1960s and probably up until the 1970s.
with national health care, you can bet that the medical profession saw many dollars with regards to foreskins (sorry for graphic remarks).

America: North America - The Difference: BRITS READ UP!
by RAYZORBLADE inwelcome to the continent of north america.. within this continent, which includes also the carribbean islands, and central america, it's not one (1) country, but a collection of different countries.. i have noticed, quite a bit actually, with our friends from across the pond (atlantic ocean), especially those that reside in great britain/united kingdom, yes even the republic of ireland, of their generalities with regards to the term: america.. heaven forbid, i would guess if you lumped all brits in with europe/europeans.
wrong.. my experience has been that, most brits consider anything over this way.....the other side of the atlantic as: america.
thus to other nationalities within north america: that means: the u.s.a.. to a north american: when you say "america" it means: the united states of america.
