Memorial to those betrayed by family
by singsongboi inhave you been disfellowhipped from the "spiritual paradise" for your conscientiously held personal beliefs?.
and were you and betrayed to the elders by family members who reported your personal conversations with them to the copngregation.. this thread is a memorial to you - and to the stupidity and paranoia of the gb, in encouraging this practise.. the stupidity of this doctrine and practise can be illustrated by the following news report (which i read in the sydney morning herald (08-04-02) but which came originally from the english daily telegraph).
i have summarised the following from the article..... ____________________________________________________________.

Christian Neutrality-other areas for research.
by singsongboi ini've just been reading thru tallyman's thread, and the jw 'crawler' in dachau ( and individual act, of course!)...
wonder did they df this guy after the war?
and then there is rutherford's 'offer to deal' with the nazi's.. quote:... "and then, the watchtower society, scorned by hitler, started publishing bad things about nazism in their literature, whereas up to that point they were silent.".

a humble woman - fighting against religious contro
by singsongboi inat the launch of the sydney gay & lesbian mardi gras 2002, in the forecourt of the sydney opera house on feb 8, a keynote speaker was a str8 woman.. nan mcgrregor is an unlikely warrior - to me looked just like one of the faithful sisters that sat ignored in meeting after meeting.
but in her heart there is a heroism that makes her special.. as one of the rainbow sash movement she wore a rainbow sash and asked to recieve holy communion in a catholic mass presided over by archbishop george pell.. she spoke of her heart searching before deciding to defy an elder of her church, and of how she felt kneeling for communion, as pell glowered threateningly at her..
interesting!!!

Missing Friends - separated by stupidity
by singsongboi ini loove those reunion stories that come from places like the former east germany/west germany, north and south korea, the peoples of northern siberia and north america... after the control freaks give up and friends and families can see each other again.
i love the looks on their faces when seeing someone dear to them that hasn't been seen for 50 years because some freak thot it was unpatriotic or untheocratic or something like that.
you can see where i am going... i had to walk away from many people i thot a lot of -- .

transexual chosen to greet queen in NZ
by singsongboi inhelen clark the prime minister of new zealand had other places to be when the queen arrived in nz on friday.. selected to greet the queen was mp georgina beyer.. ms beyer is billed as the world's first transexual mp, and is certainly one great lady....... i don't live in new zealand, but hear georgina speak a few years ago as the keynote speaker for the launch of the sydney gay & lesbian mardi gras festival season for that year.. she's a pretty gutsy lady and you quickly see why she got to be elected to the nz parliament, and keeps getting re-elected.

was there anything good?
by singsongboi ini sometimes ask myself this question - i think i was 'there' for nearly 40 years and wonder at the waste.. what good came from it?
.
did anyone really find some good in all of the things we did?

disfellowshipping is a blessing in disguise!!!!
by singsongboi ini found this site by accident a couple of weeks ago -- i did not go looking for it, and felt no need for it..... reading the posts, was like entering an old house that i once lived in and was now abandoned -- the issues being discussed were like the furniture of the old house -- covered in dust and the crap of the ages.... but, as i stayed and read on and saw the pain that so many have, i started to think about the process that led us all here.. and my thoughts crystallised -- .
i thought that i 'had' a good life as a witness -- yes i saw many things that i could question, but i accepted that old consolation that is offered when you have doubts - just wait on the lord brother - he will make all things clear in time...!!!.
you know it's really strange that that expression is used so many times -- it leads me to think that so many must have doubts - even if unexpressed!
