They wanted to know precise details with me, even when I was just being privately reproved for dating someone who wasn't a JW. 'Where did he touch you? Has he touched your "genital area?"' etc..........

What "SIN" do elders respond to fastest?
by Dismembered in.
maybe it's just me but, it seem like "elders" respond extremely quickly to "sexual misconduct" as long as it does not involve their own family members.
true or false?

Apostates are better in bed!
Ain't that the truth!!!?
My JW husband raped me. I divorced him. Had a fling...stupid fling...but hey, I was rebelling. Got rid of him and now I'm remarried (wasn't allowed to do that, as someone else mentioned above) to an amazing lover.

Free,
We've had very similar situations. My parents were abusive, and my father admitted to "one" time only sexual abuse. My parents became JW's when I was 2, and I was baptised when I was 13. Similar story from there on out, except my parents never moved to where 'the need was greater.' My father was an elder.
I've been shunned, of course, since I was DF'd, but I've never been happier. I too feel free for the first time in my life. I don't feel the overwhelming sadness and despair you're supposed to feel when you leave the org. I am happy.

For JW's...Where in the Bible does it say...
by Wolfgirl in...that men are not allowed to grow beards?.
i don't know if this is true where you live, but where i used to live, it was against "policy" for brothers to have beards.
any man who did have one was looked down upon.

...that men are not allowed to grow beards?
I don't know if this is true where you live, but where I used to live, it was against "policy" for brothers to have beards. Any man who did have one was looked down upon. There was only one where I lived, and he was only allowed to read the WT for the study on Sunday because he 'has a skin condition that makes it impossible to shave.' Where in the Bible does it say that beards are wrong? Why are men who do have them not 'allowed to serve' as elders or ministerial servants? Why are they looked down upon as somehow 'less spiritual' for having a beard? I NEVER understood that one.

Help me out here....
by Wolfgirl inok, i'm new to this site.
i'm currently questioning a lot of things.
i do not want to be "preached at" by either side; that'll just make me leave.

it is a happy person that is conscious of their spiritual needs.
I'm not trying to be argumentative, and everyone has been very kind and reasonable. But I was never happy, no matter how much I studied or tried to "do right." Take from that what you will.
Thanks for the welcome, all.

I suppose part of my problem is because of precisely what was mentioned above...being told all my life that the only way I'll 'survive Armageddon' is to be a JW. Plus the "emotional blackmail," as my husband calls it, of my family not speaking to me. Not that half of them are worth speaking to anyway. I don't really know what to do or think.
My husband is extremely supportive of me, and always has been, even before we were involved romantically. He was a good friend first, and helped me through the worst time in my life. He is my pillar of strength.
How do you make any smilies other than that one? --->

When I lived in the US, I used to work with all sorts of animals...a volunteer animal education program. I've always loved wolves, and got to work with several. They're so beautiful, they make me feel like crying. Strange, I know.

THE GARBAGE MAN COMETH (or Wait On Jehovah)
by abbagail inmany at the silent lambs' site are sick of hearing the jws say, "wait on jehovah.
" in replying to a post about "waiting on jehovah," i went off on a little story telling venture, and this is what came out... contributed for entertainment purposes... grits :-).
the witnesses are probably thinking of scriptures like ps.
