Well I have not posted or come here for a while. It is late but felt drawn here to leave a bit of an update.
I left my wife at the start of December. I half met someone online but it just made me realise very quickly how much I want to be in a loving relationship not a toxic one and what a mess everything was. So I said I was moving out and it took a month but I found a place.
The person I met online lives in Germany. We have met a couple of times and it is early but I love her. Quite happy saying that. Feel I have met my soulmate. How will it pan out? I don't know. But whatever happens I know for my own sanity and for the sake of my children moving out was the right thing to do.
Christmas was hard - nay shite - but we all got through. My soon to be ex wife is convinced I left for another woman (I have been completely honest about the lady in Germany from the outset) and I suppose in a way I have. But she checked out of the marriage years ago and that is why I left. The thought of sleeping in my daughters bedroom another night after nine months was just too much. I know I can look my children in the eye and say I tried. I tried as hard as I was able. Maybe a stronger man could have carried on "for the children" but I could not. And I know deep down that happy dad (and hopefully in the end happy mum) is better for them. I want them to see two adults that love each other not two adults that cannot stand to be in the same room.
So I sit now in my own house. Financially a lot poorer for the rest of my life but feeling hopeful and optimistic about the future for the first time in years. Although it is taking a while to adjusting to being on my own which is hard. And loving someone 500 miles away is also very hard. But you make a choice and you make it the right one. If you can.

Its sad how Americans think they are the center of the world regarding Sandy...
by mP inthe storm was much more intense and killed many more in the caribbean and yet i see practically nothing mentioned about them here or in the media.. .
pathetic..

I am not sure of the point MP was making in his OP, but to support Cofty there was loads of news about the US storm but little about what happened in the caribbean. Some people did notice and comment, but having a go at our media not the US. It is the same when the announce a plane crash on the news and say "270 people died including 5 Britains". It makes my blood boil as it implies that British lives are worth more than everyone elses.
There is also a huge amount of coverage of the US elections over here which does my nut in and any number of random American news stories. And the bias towards Obama from the news coverage here makes me want to vomit. They could never show such blatant bias towards a British politician
The reason of course is simple. At least half an hour of news is needed every day and newspapers need to fill about 30 pages. America generates a huge quanitity of news that is already in English which makes easy (and cheap) copy to fill this demand.

About what one thing do you find yourself being a real SNOB?
by Terry inyou know, to fit in....to be a part of our own family or group and not be a total nerd or contrarian.. we hold our tongue.
we smile and nod.. but, then....there is at least one thing we just can't go along with because it is too important.. why?
because we are a total snob.

I know you posted this two days ago Cofty but still
Rugby is tedious and lacking in skill.
You need pulling up on that. Although I must admit to liking American football more as I get older which I think is a real chess game. And your eulogising about football made me want to wretch.
To answer the question. My revulsion of 20/20 cricket over test cricket. Now you would have to be a real English snob (or a Yorkshireman) to be like that. Also people who post breaking up each sentence with multiple full stops for dramatic pause. Can someone please tell me which rules of English grammar they are following?

Disfellowshipped for reading "apostate literature"?
by Vanderhoven7 inis reading apostate literature a disfellowshipping offense?.
do you know of people being disfellowshipped for this or for receiving apostate literature?.

I know that my twin brother (an elder) tried to get me to admit to reading apostate material so he could disfellowship me. I told him last time I looked I did not live in North Korea and can read what I damn well please. Like I could give the smallest shit whether they would disfellowship me or not given that he and my other brother don't speak to me anyway. I think he just wanted me to be disfellowshipped so he could justify to his congregation why he did not speak to me.

Things are a bit strange at the moment but maybe it would be more strange if they were not. Work is busy at least which has kept me away from here. Which may be good or bad. Well done on the blog. I really liked the anthony morris videos. Such a knob.
