Psych texts on CD-ROM
by Introspection inhi everyone, i came across some good finds at the used book store today: two books by elizabeth kubler-ross, one by freud, the relaxation response by herbert benson and wherever you go, there you are by jon kabat-zinn.
although i enjoy reading books on paper as much as the next guy, i couldn't help but wonder about a psychology reference library for the computer.
do they have such a thing?

Vitamin E
by Introspection init seems that often when a new study comes out, there are many who like to point their finger and say "see?
that proves ---" as if one single study always definitively establishes or disproves the efficacy of a given chemical agent, be it vitamin or drug.
some people also think that the fact it appears in a prestigious journal like jama necessarily indicates it is gospel truth.

Mental training
by Introspection ini want to introduce this topic as it is practical in everyday life, but also because those leaving the wts will likely want to re-train the mind - not with new beliefs, but in the sense of thinking critically, but also objectively.
it's kind of ironic that we may decide to become a jw for emotional reasons, and we also leave for emotional reasons.
does anyone have practical ideas or techniques?.

Mind machines, bio/neurofeedback etc.
by Introspection inthis is probably a long shot, but has anyone used such devices?
it used to be a hobby of mine, and i still own a number of different gadgets as well as various psycho-acoustic recordings.
in fact, there's a good chance you have one of these tapes/cds if you've ever bought a meditation or even relaxation recording.

Meditation and therapy
by Introspection ini'm still working on integral psychology by ken wilber, i thought this was interesting coming from a proponent of meditation:.
because the traditional great chain theorists had a poor understanding of the early, infantile, prerational stages of human development, they likewise failed to grasp the types of psychopathologies that often stem from complications at these early stages.
in particular, psychosis, borderline, and neurotic diseases often stem from problems at the early fulcrums of self-development, and can best be approached with an understanding of their developmental dimensions.

Defining spirituality
by Introspection inhere is another quote from the book integral psychology by ken wilber.. by the way, note the word witness is qualified by the word supraindividual, so it is not the other thing... here are the common definitions [of spirituality]:(1) spirituality involves the highest levels of any of the developmental lines.
(2) spirituality is the sum total of the highest levels of the developmental lines.
(3) spirituality is itself a separate developmental line.

What do you think of as religion? As God?
by Introspection ini couldn't help but notice that for many their idea of god is the common judeo-christian conception of god, and if i'm not mistaken some even think looking at different churches constitutes looking at different religions.
however, i have also noticed that some have apparently spent some time and effort investigating other religions and spiritual practices.
what i want to know is, what do you think defines a religion, and how do you define the word god?
