The floodgates have opened
by B_Deserter ini posted elsewhere that i decided to contact a non-witness friend i cut ties with because she spoke ill of the society.
well, through her i was contacted by another former jw friend of mine.
turns out, we both thought we hated the other person, but turns out it wasn't true on either side.

I 'never' answer the door when JWs come a knockin' but . . .
by Gayle ini 'never' answer the door when jws (2 men) come to the door, well, yesterday i did,,and i couldn't help it.
i dominated the conversation,,wouldn't let them talk much,,stayed on the blood issue for the most part, about 6/7 min., they excused themselves & left.
they were kind of like deer facing headlights of a speeding car.

What Did The Witnesses and Christian Science Have In Common ?
by AlphaOmega ini bought a book entitled "miscellaneous writings 1883-1896" by mary baker eddy.. i was surprised to see the "cross and crown" logo on the cover.. .
it is almost identical to the logo that the watchtower used in the early days :.
i didn't realise that this was a common christian symbol in use at the time, i just thought i'd share it.. .

Anxiety breakthrough - connecting with people I cut ties with as a JW
by B_Deserter ini've decided to contact someone that i cut ties with as a jw.
i really wrestle with this because i feel like the fact that i only knew most of these people in the first place was through the jws, so in a way reconnecting with them will stifle my moving on.
there are also other factors involved, like what kind of terms on which we left, the risk of knowledge of my intention to leave the religion getting back to my family through them, etc.. .

Could a JW lifer not know about theocratic warfare?
by RebelWife ini was just looking at another thread about lying.
it reminded me of a discussion i had a while back with my husband, who has been a jw all his life (dfd now).
i brought up lying and this term "theocratic warfare," which i had never heard before, but found online.

Will A JW pick his religion over raising his own child?
by HYM inmy ex was disfellowshipped and then he was going to go back to the religion, but he met me and fell in love... i kept trying to push him away because i knew that jw's were only to date jw's.
he insisted that we stayed together.
now 9 months later, i am pregnant and he decided he needed to go back and renew his faith.

Jehovah's Witnesses - A Hijacked Religion
by B_Deserter inthe more and more i read about the history of the witnesses, the more i don't see them as one in the same as charles t. russell's religion.
i think the religious movement from 1874 to 1916 was completely different than the one from 1918 to now.
rutherford is the real founder of jehovah's witnesses.
