It's OK Lurkers, Paranoid former JW's, and even you current JW's....
by AllTimeJeff init's ok.... to post here on the internet, on jwn, and other jw related forums.. first of all, as we all know, the governing body doesn't provide a forum for jw's to "associate" with their brothers and sisters.
i'm just guessing, and i could be wrong, that its harder to control the flock when they have free access to information and each other.
damn electricity and the technology it brings..... anyway, i realize that for anyone leaving, or for practicing jw's, to post is a nervous thing.

Why a Movement to Stop Jehovah's Witnesses Doesn't Make Sense
by AllTimeJeff infrequently, i see angry departing jw's want to stop someone from going through the experience they have had.
people dying because of their horrible and contradictory blood doctrines, the protection of child molesters in their midst, who wouldn't want to destroy all of that.. the reality though is pretty simple.
as an organization, jw's are far from the only ones who systematically practice the use and abuse of people for their own groups benefits.. can you get rid of one?

Lies and Damn Lies
by AllTimeJeff inthe greatest mistake and the greatest harm i ever did to myself as a jehovah's witness is lying to myself.
about everyone else secondly.. i believe in very few constants in life.
i think we all are on journey's and it takes a lot to get to where we are going.

Do Not Interpretations Belong To.....
by AllTimeJeff inone of the biggest things that the governing body hangs their hat on is a simple concept.
"we, the gb, are the only ones authorized to interpret the bible, what it means, what to enforce, and what not to enforce.".
joseph in the book of genesis told the pharaoh after a perplexing dream "do not interpretations belong to god?".

Things That Matter and Things That Don't
by AllTimeJeff inbeing a jehovah's witness at any time and at any level is a major head f*ck.
the reason is that it obscures what is important and causes you to focus on what doesn't matter.. i've moved on from my jw experience.
it's a shame that i found myself a born in, taught to focus on things that don't matter.

E plurubus unum
by AllTimeJeff ini have been meaning to talk about this for some time.
whatever arguements this causes is up to you.. glen beck, who scheduled his little "return to god" fair with exquisite good taste and timing, said that his rally had nothing to do with politics.
i have no problem with him organizing whatever he wants.

ATTENTION LURKING JW'S WHO WONDER ABOUT "APOSTATES"......
by AllTimeJeff inthis is an internet board.
as such, what makes it relevant, cool, or otherwise, are the people who choose to make themselves a part of this particular community.. internet forums of any stripe have regulars, visitors, curious, lurkers, and of course, trolls.
jw internet communities are no different.. many regulars who are here used to be jw's, and left for one reason or another.

The Significance of Raymond Victor Franz
by AllTimeJeff inthe significance of raymond franz.
in the light of the passing of raymond franz this week, it is clear from the reaction that many were affected by the deeds of this man.
while he was called gentle by those who knew him (for the record, i never got to meet him personally) his reputation preceded him both in the ex jehovah's witness community, and still to this day at the world headquarters of jehovah's witnesses.. while his writings were indeed fair and reasonable, (i challenge anyone to read his books and find bitterness associated with him toward his former peers) i think it would be a mistake to remember ray franz as somewhat of a gentle, doting old man.
