JoinedI am the daughter of a former cult member (not the Witnesses but a similar high control group) who was disfellowshipped for marrying outside the group. I had no relationship with my grandparents and aunt/uncle/cousins for many years. This caused my mother to often be depressed, crying, angry, and emotionally distant. I have met with Witnesses for over a year, studying with them, but at the time knowing that they are a cult. I have tried to plant seeds that may later grow into questions that they realize cannot be answered by their organization.
