Is the problem with the JWs or the Bible?

this topic is a spin-off of another, but i'd like to hear people's opinions.. since the witnesses spew numerous biblical passages which seem to justify their beliefs and practices, who's exactly to blame for their less-than-human approach to life?

what laws do the jws live by that are not justified in some way by the judeo-christian bible?

is shunning justified in the scriptures?

i always feel guilty if i don't respond to a question or comment from the previous day, but i've been posting so much lately that it'll take too much time to go through my post history.

Do JWs give you the creeps?

i'm not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but i've recently begun to get the willies when i'm around an active jehovah's witness.

this didn't happen until after i started posting here.. when i stop by my parents' house on a saturday morning and the witnoids show up, i get a sinking feeling in my stomach....a mix between sickness, fear, and anger.

i used to try and put on a happy face and be sociable when they came in, but now i just wave goodbye and as i'm walking out.

i thought this was an international message board where someone was always awake?.

i have a serious case of insomnia and the posts don't seem to be moving very quickly.

maybe i'm drunk and have a case of the slow motions.. my sentences seem to be getting shorter.. why is this happeningt?.

how do so many people have similar experiences in "haunted" places if spirits didn't exist?

i recently purchased one and...i now know why so many people fear them.

How do you deal with regret?

i'm wondering if anyone here has devised good techniques for handling regret.. i've been thinking about high school a lot lately, and "what could have been" is eating away at me.

i still had the dub mentality, and i didn't really associate with many people.

i was constantly called a 'snob' because i kept to myself, and i had people asking me to do things after school all the time, people who could have been life-long friends.

Why do different Christian sects have set "beliefs", or interpretations?

i often wonder why so many religions choose to interpret the bible and set their interpretations in stone.

wouldn't it be better to simply support the members of the congregation and let them use their own discernment?

i remember the jws preaching against the formation of sects.

What exactly is a beer belly?

this probably sounds like a stupid topic, but what's in a beer belly?

i've always been on the thin side, but i've been drinking too much beer lately and notice something happening above my belt.

it's not really noticeable and is easiliy sucked in, but i'm not happy.
