    My Lovely Box

I want to show you my box.

It is a lovely box. It is sturdy and strong box.

It is beautifully shaped with 6 smooth sides

    I love my box

In side my box I am in my own favorite place

My box clearly defines the boundaries of my world

I know who is in and who is out

I know what is in and what is out.

My box answers all of my questions……I like that.

I am secure in my box.

    I love my box.

I occasionally invite people into my box

I measure them and size them to be sure they fit into my box

So long as they are the right size I can have them in.

    Not many measure up.

Those that don’t fit have the option of changing their size.

They can lose and arm or a leg.

But strangely most of them don’t want to do that.

They tell me they don’t like my box.

    I don’t understand these people.

    I love my box.

Some people tell me they like my box

It is mostly the ones who fit my box who tell me this.

They have one just like it.

    They love their box too.

Inside my box I am in my own favorite place.

My box clearly defines the boundaries of my world.

I know who is in and who is out.

I know what is in and what is out.

My box answers all my questions……I like that.

I am secure in my box.

    I love my box.

I have heard other people talk about their box.

There are some mighty strange boxes out there

Some decorate their boxes on the outside and make them pretty.

Some line their boxes on the inside to make them soft and comfortable.

Some like their boxes plain and simple.

Some eat in their boxes, others don’t.

Some have parties and celebrations, other don’t.

Some say a box is a place to be serious.

Others laugh a lot in their boxes.

    I don’t know, I don’t know.

All I know is I love my box.

I thought about leaving my box once

I looked around but everything seemed so…we ll …dangerous

I thought if I left my box that I would end up losing my way.

Outside my box I had feelings that frightened me.

I heard words that were different from my words.

    I saw people I didn’t understand.

I didn’t know where the boundaries were.

    The world was too big.

I didn’t know what to do.

In the end I went back to my box.

Inside my box I am in my own favorite place.

My box clearly defines the boundaries of my world.

I know who is in and who is out.

I know what is in and what is out.

My box answers all of my questions….I like that.

I am secure in my box.

    I love my box!

    Stone of Love

by R. Meltzer and Donald Roeser

There is a box that I have shown
And in the box the games of god
There is a fox that I have known
And in its heart the blood is hard
Its heart is but a stone

There is a chain that I have worn
And on the chain a thorn is hung
There is a pain forever borne
That sings a song forever sung
The song is but a stone
    Stone of love

There is a ledge beside a dome
And on the ledge adventures dance
There is an edge that is your home
And on the edge breathes true romance

There is a voice without a sound
Whose wisdom speaks in foolish rhyme
There is a choice that I have found
Between the fear and safer time
The choice is but a stone
    Stone of love

Wow,sure sounds like the witness life to me.

The human mind is quite the box builder. Upon everything it sticks a label. Nothing wrong with it, until we believe the boxes to be real. The Witnesses are but one small box on a large box tree. Life, however, lives not in boxes. It is fluid and ever changing. Put a flowing river in a box or bottle and what have you got? Too often, it seems, we give great importance and significance to our boxes -- as the poem shows -- and in doing so separate ourselves from Life. What great joy can be experienced simply being nonjudgmentally (nonboxbuildingly) and openly in the moment -- embracing and giving attention to what the universe is presenting. Out of the mind, and into the moment. j

Is this meant to refer to the witnesses? It sounds like a poem about female genitalia

I was looking for this poem and I thought maybe newbies would appreciate it. And maybe some who missed it when I posted it last year.

    Sandy:

I am glad you found that poem. I missed it somehow last year...(must have been away from my computer for a while).

It is very thought provoking....ironic as well...

    Thanks for bringing back up!
