I had never heard of this woman, but given Prince's JW connection and this person's identification as an evangelist, is there a JW connection that anyone knows about?

No JW connection at all that I know of.
The Prince connection was back in the early 80's. She was originally supposed to play the part that Apollonia got in Purple Rain but that fell through.
She got all religious after she nearly died from drug abuse in the early 90's.

Can't imagine her sufferings after the overdose.
Hope that she found peace before leaving this life.
