Seems the journalist must have looked at the wrong country, the number of JWs do not make any sense.

Recent yearbooks show about 11000 to 12000 witnesses in Jamaica, so the writer must have made a mistake.

"Recent yearbooks show about 11000 to 12000 witnesses in Jamaica, so the writer must have made a mistake."
Just like it takes $5 million Jamaican dollar to equal $370,000 "real dollars", so it takes 44,000 to 50,000 Jamaican dubs to equal 11,000 to 12,000 "real dubs".
Or, maybe we just need to be "overlapping" the real numbers several times to get up to 50,000 dubs.
In any case, it's so refreshing to hear the good news of the tremendous decrease 'from a distant land'!
    just saying!

Same old rhetoric from JW spokesmen, " All the answers you are seeking can be found on our website. " Uh-huh. You mean the " answers " indicating the WT Society's financial fallout from overextending themselves in far too many construction costs and loans and how even Bank of America has refused to extend credit to the WT Society due to them defaulting on loans previously ? You mean the " answers " indicating WT Society's refusal to answer questions in court upon demands by judges concerning the 23,000 pedophiles in their organization they have a Database file on - AND that the WT Society is in financial stress due to possibly over a minimum of 100 + child abuse lawsuits against them in process worldwide right now ? You mean those kind of answers ? Interesting- I don't see that information on your website.

Also this quote is interesting, " Because of the mergers, qualified ministers who had been serving in small branches can now concentrate on preaching the good news. "

Translation : " We don't have enough financial capability to keep long time " well trained " workers at our Bethel facilities - so we have to send them back to their home congregations and let their friends and family try to put them to work. If they stay busy in the ministry- we are confident God Jehovah will drop any employment into these 65 year old faithful servants laps ! Be assured of our " warm Christian love ".

Anybody know how to vomit ? Peace out, Mr. Flipper

I'm guessing that they got the 50,000 membership mark by going off the Jamaican census.

"Maintenance and electricity costs are killers...." said the Witness.

    Really?

Maintenance and electricity costs are the most basic costs of owning property. Since when can the "owner of all the gold and silver in the universe [Jehovah]," as Watchtower has previously claimed, and Who is supposed to be their backer, not afford such basic costs?

This suggests that Jehovah has nothing to do with the Watchtower organization and never has.

Outlaw -- LOL! If only they were going down the tubes in US. Unfortunately, there are too many desperate souls to be preyed upon ready to buy their magic.

All this wonderful, secular, education, out there and the majority of society does not have the opportunity to learn. Sad.

A local Witness, who asked not to be named as he is not an official spokesperson for the religious group, told The Sunday Gleaner that some local properties have already been sold while others are on offer to the highest bidder.

    - And -

When our news team contacted the headquarters of the Jehovah's Witnesses in the United States, a representative said he was not an official spokesperson for the religious group and could not speak on the record.

It's funny how out of 8 million preachers who are 'boldly declaring the good news,' working on behalf of 'God's spirit directed organization' on earth today, nobody wants to be a spokesperson all of a sudden.
