In Shocking Testimony, Jehovah’s Witnesses Reveal They Feel No Need to Protect a Child From a Pedophile
Today, many former Jehovah’s Witnesses are clinging to every word said during the Australian Royal Commission’s Inquiry Into Institutional Responses to Child Sex Abuse. This inquiry is right now questioning elders of Jehovah’s Witnesses and how they have handled sex abuse cases in their congregations over the past few decades.
    It’s not good.
While there is much to discuss and I will be writing about it all in another post, one shocking revelation is found in a short clip which I’ll share below. An elder openly admits that Jehovah’s Witnesses, when dealing with a man (or woman) whom they know has committed an act of child molestation, if they are “not satisfied that this person will not offend again,” do virtually nothing to warn other people. No calls to the police, no warnings to parents. Nothing to protect more children from being raped and abused. Nothing.

A well written article that is good for social media sharing.

Watching that clip I wondered again how many close friends that elder has outside the congregation, and why he felt the need to clarify 'if I associated with them'.

    Boy...

...at this rate, all the collective facepalming around the planet will start to affect its orbit before too long.

Watchtower has taken plenty of religious positions without concern of what is legally required. My hope is in this case that Watchtower will establish a religious position that without fail it will have local elders immediately report allegations of child abuse to local secular authorities for those authorities to investigate or not as they please.

I've heard the crapola arguments suggesting that such a policy would impede child rapists from confessing their sins and therefore push perps further underground. I don't care. Pedophiles need to know they have nowhere to hide in plain sight anymore, and it will not matter whether the predator confesses or not because sooner or later a victim or victims are going to talk, or someone with suspicion is going to make the allegation. Then let secular authorities deal with it as best they can. That's the best we have at the moment for hindering further victimization of our children.

And...the JW elders have to be stopped from collecting "evidence" of sex with a minor. That is sick beyond belief - the Judical Committees have to be barred from collecting child sex stories.

The WTS should be made to hand over all of their child sex abuse files to the authorities on the grounds of it being a collection of child pornography. And they have to be stopped from collecting that information from minors ever again.

For all the protests of ecclesiastical privilege, that s as me elder SId he would warn his own personal friends, after clarifying that no, he wasn't warning the friends of the abuser! His own personal buds. But not the police. Not the community.
