Here is a JW-authored Philippines newspaper article which, as usual, is full of lies and half-truths intended to deceive the Filipino general public. I guess that the WBTS assumes that they can get away with this CRAP in the Philippines. Maybe some of us reasonably familiar with the WBTS's history, doctrine, political activity (lobbying US Congress to help with foreign governments, UN affiliation), etc. should take the time to write the editor of this newspaper as well as post messages on this paper's discussion board (link at bottom of article).........................................................................................................................

Thanks Erie Guy for posting this. Not a very "original" article, but the usual "schpeeeel" mouthed by every JW who has ever memorized the contents of any of the WT-self-aggrandized literature.

This comment really irked me: "We do not look to any human leader, but to Jesus Christ alone."

Yeahhh, RIGHT! Just keep believing that, fella!

    Grits

Someone needs to teach him proper grammar before he starts writing newspaper articles.

    LIERS!!!!!

    *** You Can live Forever (1982, 1990) p.255 ***

Do not conclude that there are different roads, or ways, that you can follow to gain life in God's new system. There is only one. There was just one ark that survived the Flood, not a number of boats. And there will be only one organization--God's visible organization -- that will survive the fast-approaching "great tribulation. " It is simply not true that all religions lead to the same goal . . . . You must be part of Jehovah's organization , doing God's will, in order to receive his blessing of everlasting life...

I just noticed something... the guy writing the article was quoting huge amounts of text from WT literature without providing and indication that he was:

Some define sect to mean a group that has broken away from an established religion. Others apply the term to a group that follows a particular human leader or teacher. Jehovah's Witnesses is not an offshoot of any church but include persons from all walks of life and from many religious backgrounds. We are actually a worldwide Christian society of people who actively bear witness regarding Jehovah God and his purposes affecting mankind.

There are more than 6 million active Jehovah's Witnesses worldwide who are doing voluntary work in 235 countries.

We base our beliefs not on human tradition or philosophy, but on the Holy Bible. We do not look to any human leader, but to Jesus Christ alone.
    *** Reasoning From the Scriptures (1985, 1989) p.202 Jehovah's Witnesses ***

Are Jehovah's Witnesses a sect or a cult?

Some define sect to mean a group that has broken away from an established religion. Others apply the term to a group that follows a particular human leader or teacher. The term is usually used in a derogatory way. Jehovah's Witnesses are not an offshoot of some church but include persons from all walks of life and from many religious backgrounds. They do not look to any human, but rather to Jesus Christ, as their leader.

A cult is a religion that is said to be unorthodox or that emphasizes devotion according to prescribed ritual. Many cults follow a living human leader, and often their adherents live in groups apart from the rest of society. The standard for what is orthodox, however, should be God's Word, and Jehovah's Witnesses strictly adhere to the Bible. Their worship is a way of life, not a ritual devotion. They neither follow a human nor isolate themselves from the rest of society. They live and work in the midst of other people.

I wonder how much more he has plagiarized ???

Wasn't there JUST a KM article about illegal use of the literature?

    Good catch Elsewhere!_________

Yes, Grits, this is pretty much a "ho-hum" article when compared with those we sometimes see in the American, British, Australian, and Canadian newspapers. However, we should take into consideration the "geography" in this situation. Who knows what goes on in the Philippines? We should take full advantage of this article to provide this newspaper with counter-arguments and accurate info about JWs and the WBTS. I somehow suspect that Filipino XJWs need all the help they can get.
