Blood vs. Pedophilia

Let's say Suzy Witness told the elders in her JW congregation that her JW father had been secretly forcing blood transfusions on her when they were alone. What would happen? How differently the matter would be treated than if she went to them and told them she had been being molested?

Would the elders demand 2 witnesses?

Would the looneybirds at Watchtower Legal tell the elder who called them to "let Jehovah bring it out" and "don't get yourself in a jam?"

Would the JW's at her hall shun her for making the accusation?

Or would they camp outside her house and try to kidnap her to keep her from being subjected to such a terrible, terrible thing?

Hilarious and sad when you think about it.

This is my last post for a while, I spend WAAAYYY to much time in this forum.

    Hello Dan :o)

Snap! I had a similar thought! A while back I posted about the *training* given to children and families about blood transfusion and wondered how it compared in detail/time spent/emphasis/advice given etc with the *training* for paedophilia/rape etc.

Jehovah's Witnesses have been taught to respond that enforced blood transfusion is tantamount to *rape* - and this was said by the poor little girl in Calgary just recently in the court case.

So if we look at Acts 15 and realise that the WTBTS considers blood in the same category as *porneia* (which word covers a number of different activities), where is the *rape* booklet? Or the *paedophilia* booklet? Or the *immoral activity* booklet? Or the *sexual intercourse with an under age close relative* booklet? Or the *what to do if your ---------- forces you to ------------ *?

I am guessing that these booklets, or downloadable brochures do not exist.

And when were the HLC's set up? And for what purpose?

Where are the equivalent committees for advising/counselling rape/abuse victims?

I am guessing that these do not exist.

And if the 2 activities are regarded as equally offensive to the WTBTS, and the WTBTS provides legal support and financing for its members in order to avoid blood treatments, where is the legal support and financing for its members who are victims of sexual abuse?

    Okay - I'm not guessing!

Maybe any current Jehovah's Witnesses who are reading this could explain this to me.

If the *crimes* are viewed as equally offensive to members, why is there such a disparity in their treatment within the organisation?

.....and a blood transfusion is not even against the law!! They have really great priorities!

    CO:

I gather you were never a Watchtowerist. Let me tell you, it was a real treat sitting through a 40 minute Service Meeting part (Thursday or Tuesday meeting, depending on your congo) detailing the new legal forms the WT has produced for JW's in recent years, due to the increasing complexities of the blood issue that have made the wallet cards insufficient.

    *Yawn*

I never heard the sin of pedophilia mentioned at a meeting. Not once.
