IN 2000, AN ESTIMATED 36,000+ JWs ATTENDED DISTRICT CONVENTIONS IN TUCSON. THE CVB'S ESTIMATE THAT THEY HAD AN ECONOMIC IMPACT OF $19.7 MILLION IS NOT MERELY AN OVERESTIMATE, IT IS FRAUDULENT. THAT ESTIMATE AMOUNTS TO EVERY MAN, WOMAN, AND CHILD SPENDING OVER $500 PER PERSON TO ATTEND A DC, OR A FAMILY OF 4 SPENDING $2000 FOR THE WEEKEND.----------
THE WBTS QUIETLY SITS BACK AND ENJOYS THE BENEFIT OF THIS FRAUD PERPETRATED ON THE TAXPAYERS OF TUCSON, WHO SUBSIDIZE SUCH DCs VIA REDUCED RENTAL FEES.----------
EMAIL THIS REPORTER AND INQUIRE HOW HE HAS THE AUDACITY TO REPORT SUCH FIGURES WITHOUT QUESTIONING THE ACCURACY OF SUCH?-----------
PROVIDE HIM WITH A BREAKDOWN OF YOUR OWN PREVIOUS EXPENSES FOR GASOLINE, MEALS, ENTERTAINMENT AND ROOM.----------

Sorry to burst your bubble, but most economic benefit analysis include a multiplier affect which makes each new dollar coming into a community actually worth $2.5 to $7.50 by the time it circulates through different primary, secondary and terterary levels of the economy. I don't think the reporter is off at all in reporting the economic impact.
