I picked up some new stamps today (for those outside the US, the postage just went up from 34 cents to 37 cents per stamp). I noticed the provisional stamps were of the US flag.
It made me remember the old days where my mother would scrutinize the stamps for sale at the post office to make sure she did not buy any that were objectional, especially around the holidays, i.e. Valentine's Day, Christmas, Fourth of July, etc.
Any one else have memories like these?
