For all the Moms who never get to hear this from their disconnected family:
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
Out for a walk today and said "Happy Mums day to all the mums and dads who were out with their little ones. You should have seen the faces light up.
Zeb, how lovely! (((hugs)))
I just posted a tribute to my lovely Mom who we lost to cancer when she was only 57. I was thinking about how stupid it was that we never did anything for her on Mothers Day. Wasn't it because there was something Pagan about worshiping women or something weird like that?
After I posted my tribute, I saw this article on Yahoo. Apparently Mothers Day is only 100 years old today. How was it that they thought it had to do with the Pagans?
Leave it to the JW's to find some religious significance to the occasion and ban it. Yet another "take away" brought to you by the good folks at Watchtower.
Ex, I believe it was connected to the concept of "idol worship"...you know, can't focus on one person for their birthday or mom's day or dad's day because that's the same as worshipping them over the creator....
Sure....

True, goes to show just how over the top ridicules this religion is and can be.
It also shows the insidiously apathetic social attitude the men who in their self presence of power
and control were and are. Dick heads

Yes, and the thing that is really so distasteful about it is this: What about the very tangible “idol worship” demanded by and given to the Governing Body of the Watchtower organization (corporation)? They expect to remain elevated and venerated on their phony little pedestal every day of every year! (And somewhere in the mix is Jesus . . . somewhere, I think. The Watchtower would probably have him mopping the floors if he returned bodily and went to bethel headquarters.)
It was prohibited for puffing up with pride (putting a single individual as the center of attention is wrong) and because Pagans had celebrations of fertility (motherhood) in Spring.
Anyhoo, happy day to all those who are estranged from their kids because of the cult. You are probably much better moms now than you ever were when you were "in".
