FREEDOM from human rules ? So how do jw's fit in with Colossians 2:13-23 then.

  17 these are a shadow of the things that were yet to come: the reality however is found in Christ

  22. These rules, which have to do with things that are all destined to perish with use, are based on merely human, commands and teachings.

  23. Such regulations indeed have an appearence of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship,their false humility, and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.

  Commands of men... like what?

  Thou shalt not . . . celebrate birthdays

  Thou shalt not . . . smoke

  Thou shalt not . . . partake of the Lord's evening meal

  Thou shalt . . . shun anyone who once was a JW but simply no longer wants to be one

  And so on.

  Great points guys! When is the last time these were cited in a WT or public talk? Hardly ever or never. If they do the average dub still wont see the hypocrisy, they will just apply it to "Babylon the Great" and all their manmade rules and traditions. All while not looking in the mirror.

  Who do the GB become accrding to JW doctrine? Heavenly creatures!! Who do the JW's obey? The GB!! Who do Jw's worship? Angels!!!!!!!

  Thanks guys, keep them coming.

  I think it wouls be a good help for 'lurkers' guys if we could all keep adding a list of scripture, like these ones,

  (or anyone else that needs reminding of the 'scriptures')

  Use the scriptures to show, prove, WT and jw's are not doing what they should be doing, that it is wrong what they are being told to do.

  Remeber the white washed graves ?

  Put on the full suit of armour etc.

  1-7 the apostle expresses his love to, and joy in believers.

  8-17 he caustions against the errors of heathen philosophy; also against jewish traditions, and rights which had been fullfilled in Christ.

  18-23 agaisnt worshipping angels; and against legal ordinances.

  See the danger of enticing words,; how many are ruined by the false disguises and fair appearences of evil principle and wicked practices.

  It is an insult to Christ, to use any intercessors but him.
