My new favorite show is The Voice where the judges do not see the person singing, they have their chairs turned around and cannot see the contestant. They are only listening to the qualities of their voices. If they want to mentor them, they will turn their seat around, and then the contestant gets to pick who he or she would like as a musical celebrity to work with them.

That sounds like a true singing competition.
Here in UK you will do better if you look hot and sexy with a mediocre voice than if you look like a minger but sing like an angel.
There are however a few exceptions eg. Susan Boyle

THE VOICE for me too.
I hate them all. American Idol proved itself to be a farce last year when Crystal Bowersox lost. I watch the auditions once in awhile when nothing else is on, just to see people make fools of themselves.
