It was a 60 mile long, 60 mph winds, and super thick and tall sandstorm that brought a severe thunderstorm with it.
Everything is covered in a layer or three of sand and dirt and mud.

No but I kinda like it. It's more accurate than "Monsoon" which technically is the season that brings the storms and not the storms themselves.

I thought monsoon meant the stronger winds blowing in a different direction from other times of the year.

Yup, it's the season and also any wind that changes directions with the seasons.
Hmm...wind is always changing direction...hmm...
