I'm would like to get the new elders manual as well as the pioneer-book (2004). Interesed in what they actually have to say.
And if everything in them can be found in the literature, why are they so secret?

well first of all they are secret because they want the elders to feel special - they have something no one else has.
then it is secret because it actually does have some thing that regual WT litterature doesn't have - like how to judge whether people should be DFed or put on reproof of some sort.
From what I understand there are wide margins for the elders to write special notes in that even the WTS won't publish

That is the reason they had to publish a new edition,
there was no more room in the old one to write any more notes in!
Not only wide margins in the new one, there are a few blank pages!
