    This is a question i probably ask five times a year but oh well

    I have;

    609 BC — The Babylonians defeat the Assyrians
    605 BC — The Babylonians defeat the Egyptians/Nebuchadnezzar becomes King
    597 BC — Babylonians capture Jerusalem following a siege - Exile of prominent Jews
    586 BC - Jerusalem & Temple destroyed.
    539 BC - Babylon called to account. 70 Years ended.

    My problem is explaining Daniel 9:1-2.

    Is he referring to the same 70 years or perhaps to the fact the temple was rebuilt in 516BC, 70 years after its destruction in 586.

    Also;

    Do the Witnesses accept that Nebuchadnezzar began ruling in 605 BCE?

    KW13,

    One suggestion I've read for the desolation of Daniel 1:1-2 is:

    586: Destruction of the temple

    516: Completion of 2nd temple in 6th year of Darius (Ezra 6:15; Zech. 7:1,5)
