I know where I can get those CFL bulbs for under $2 each--in a supermarket where they are selling 3 to a pack for $5.99. I also found some at 1000 Bulbs.com for under $2 each when I checked out their LED Christmas lights, and you can get them in sizes and wattages not found at your local supermarket or Church of Scientology handout.
True, you are going to spend some money that way. But, at least it's only money. Selling your soul for a damn light bulb is not worth it.
