Chromolithography -- tell me how to do it

No, I don't wish to actually try the process. I prefer the digital age. I only want to know the steps of the process they used way back when.

I've read where Chromolithography was developed in the early 1800's, that it became the process of choice (till the 1930's) for reproducing color works of art, advertising poster, etc.

I've searched for "how to" sites but can find nothing that reveals a step process for taking a multi-colored page original, then reproducing it. Nothing that tells me what happens to the original -- is it destroyed in the process?

Start by looking for lithography, but here is a start for you:

Male sure to scroll down the page as it looks just like a dictionary entry to start!

It is very labour intensive and requires a lot of patience.

    I prefer the 'digital age'.
