I know him, as he was our Circuit Overseer, in Hawkesbury Canada. The congration usually found him a little pompous, but he was pretty playful back then. We used to play "Spoons" and usually had a good laugh. He was a pretty sore loser though! LOL!
But there was something about him that I didn't like, My parents looked at him as if he had angel wings. His prayers were theatrical, and only swooned those more gullible. My parents had tears when he prayed - while I remember thinking that it was all a show. Maybe he WAS sincere... how do I know. But that's not the feeling I had.
Anyway, I remember him very well. When I hear his talks now, he seems to be even more self-rightoues than I remember though. A character traite maybe... but his talks are destructive to anyone with a weak spirit. His discourse on education is horrid and should be ignored totally.
I also caught him more than once 'mine-quoting'! I can't believe he gets away with it.
Funny enough, Lett was our Circuit Overseer in Brooklyn NY.
