I'd like to see a study of the long term effects of this. Having to constantly cuss out Microsoft Windows can't be good for the poor innocent hard drives. If we can come up with enough evidence that MS Windows causes us to scream, which in turn causes our disks to fail, there may be a basis for a class action suit against Microsoft.

Did you see the adv. for a 1 TB hard drive for a little less than $100? I paid $ 700 for a 70 MB hard drive back in the early days of the PC. I also paid $1000 for a VGA video card and a 14 inch monitor back then. Any one else remember those days?
