I just started reading this book called: A History Of God, The 4000-Year Quest of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam by Karen Armstrong. Has anyone read it? What did you think?

I have not read it, but Mr. Fiorini has and highly recommends it. The best chapter, in his opinion, is the one about the mystics in all the different traditions.

    It's on the list.

A poster recommended listening to an interview with her on NPR. I wonder if it's still on their website. (I couldn't find it here.) There are several youtube interviews.

I'm in the middle of reading another one of her books "The Great Transformation"... shows how the major religions (or their roots, since Xianity and Islam has roots in the Abrahamic Judean tradition) were all man-made between 900-200 BCE...

Its not an easy read at 400 small type pages chock full of history, but I'm reading it little by little...

I should get "A history of God" soon too...
