Minor changes to Billy Joel's MY LIFE

Got a call from an old JW friend
We used to be real close
Said he couldn't go on the Jehovah way
Closed the shop, sold the house
Bought a ticket to the West Coast
Now he gives them a stand-up routine on JWD.
I don't need you to worry for me cause I'm an Apostate
I don't want you to tell me it's time to come back to Jehovah
I don't care what you say anymore, this is my life
Go ahead with your own Cult life--leave me alone
I never said you had to offer me a second chance
I never said I was a victim of Demons

I still belong, don't get me wrong
And you can speak your mind
    But not on my time
They will tell you you can't sleep alone
    In a strange place
Then they'll tell you you can't sleep
    With somebody else
Ah, but sooner or later you sleep
    In your own space
    Either way it's okay
    You wake up with yourself

Here's a little song dubs wrote,

Just make sure you follow it note for note.

    Don't worry,

    Be dubbie.

In every life we have some trouble,

But join the dubbies, they'll make it double,

    Don't worry,

    Be dubbie.

Ain't got no place to lay your head,

"Seventy-five" came and took your bed.

    Don't worry,

    Be dubbie.

Abuse victims say you changed too late, (and too little, but too many syllables for this line )

    They will have to litigate.

    Don't worry,

    Be dubbie.

Ain't got no cash ain't got no style,

This full-time service can't make me smile.

    But don't worry,

    Be dubbie.

Cuz' when you're dubbie your face will frown,

You're only hope is to leave those clowns.

    So don't dubbie,

    Be happy.

    Bon Jovi....ReDubbed

    Shot through the heart
    And no blood transfusion came
Dubers' you give God a bad name

An angel's words to Rutherford is what you tell
You promise me spiritual paradise, then put me into Watchtower sells.
Chains of brotherly love got a hold on me
When association a prison, you can't break free

ohh Your lifes is no fun...yea
ohh This burden feel like a ton
    No one can save me
    The damage is to shun

    [Chorus:]

    Shot through the heart
    And no blood transfusion came
Dubers' you give God a bad name
I did my part and you made your gain
You give God a bad name
You give God a bad name

Paint your smile on your lips
Blood soaked publications at your fingertips
A impressionable boy's dream, you said I'd climb so high
Your very big promise was a very big lie

ohh Your lifes is no fun...yea
ohh This burden feel like a ton
    No one can save me
    The damage is to shun
    [Chorus]

Funny you should rewrite that particular song to make it JW related because as it turns out it already is. Billy Joels sister Judy and her children are JW and some of the lyrics in this song relate to more or less please don’t preach to me, we are not the same but we are still family. “I don't care what you say anymore, this is my life Go ahead with your own life, leave me alone.“

The reason I know this is because my wife is friends with his sister Judy. His nephew, I believe his name is Josh, went to the same private (jw) school as one of my sons and they were pretty good friends. Ooops I guess I let the cat out of the bag as far as my location is concerned. Don’t really care. Love his music!

Aaaaah, that may explain why that song is one of the few songs I've heard mentioned as 'bad influence' at the DC's.
