Let's just say that one is planning on taking a loved one to a nice suite for the weekend overlooking the ocean at a fairly upscale hotel on the Mid-Atlantic. And, let's just say that if one wanted to order a nice bottle of Champagne...the good stuff.....I've had Pol Roget or sparkling wine. But, any suggestions on a really good French Champagne?

I read your initial post too quickly, the one I recommended you are unlikely to find in a hotel (but, one never knows). Otoh it's an excellent one (and not too expensive) to order directly from the producer. Another good one is http://www.vinup.com/global.lasso?cp=12626293 -- my JW father had a box of this one sent to my wedding, even though he didn't show up, lol...

Remember, too, that Champagne (unlike many French wines) does not usually age very well. So it's a bit risky to go for old vintages (earlier than 2002 for instance).

    Enjoy!
