During the past few weeks I have been getting a series of hospital tests and yesterday I had an appointment with the consultant for the results. The news wasn't good. I have an appointment with the oncologist next week and will starting radio and chemo therapy soon followed by an operation, probably early next year.

Of course I'm anxious but I'm determined to beat it. I'm only 48 and otherwise very fit and healthy so I'm up for the fight.

Your positive vibes would be most welcome right now.

All the best to you and your family, Cofty. I'm sorry to hear about this. It's always scary, but the treatments are steadily getting better. Your positive attitude will also help.

You are in my prayers my friend :)

I have something of expereince in chemo and keep healthy, exercise and keep strong in mind and body and yur chances will be better, trust me on this.

Some alternative natrual medicine can help boosting your immune system and deal with the issues of Chemo, without the side effects of the drugs they may want to give you.

May I ask if you have gotten a 2nd opinion? or looked into alternatives?

cofty, I'm so sorry to hear you are going thru this. Please know you are not alone and you can do this. Chemo and Rads are difficult, but doable. You will get thru this. There are also lot's of treatments your oncologist can offer you that will keep the really bad symptoms of nausea away. I too have been seeing an oncologist and have already gone thru surgeries and treatment, and currently on bi annual chemotherapy to keep it from coming back. Best wishes in your recovery.
