Man threatens to blow himself up in Rome 26 February 2005 16:44
Reports from the Italian capital, Rome, say an armed man has threatened to blow himself up in a hall where around 2,000 members of the Jehovah's Witnesses church are holding a meeting.
Armed with a pistol, the man jumped onto the stage at the hall and issued the threat.
The hall was evacuated while the man barricaded himself inside a room on the first floor of the building.
(Very timely considering the thread on protecting the stage)
The man, who appeared to have electrical wires protruding from under his jacket, gave no reason for his threat.
