The Politics Of Sin - Or the Sin Of Politics.....

The WTS prides itself as being a religious organization who strives without predjudice to keep wrongdoing from its congregations even though it has to use the theologically controversial method of expelling its criminals, that is, its ?shunning? procedure.

Principle it seems, is of the uncompromising variety within the WTS walls.

One the most sickening things that I ever read in WTS literature concerned the life history of a young Bethelite who before becoming a JW had lived an anti-social lifestyle. To illustrate just how much he had changed he illustrated his previous life by describing an incident of gang rape as now noted :

*** g90 7/22 19-20 Three Hours That Turned My Life Around *** .Even so, a sense of right and wrong exercised some restraints. For example, in my third year of high school, I had two buddies that I ran with, was on the basketball team with, did everything with?up until this one night when we came across a young woman. My two friends decided to rape her. She pleaded with them not to do this, but when they proceeded to do it, she became hysterical and screamed for them to kill her instead. In spite of her struggle, they raped her. Then they wanted me to join them in this outrage against her person. Sickened and repelled, I refused to share in their cowardly violation of her. They became very angry with me and ended up calling me vile names. Our friendship ended that night.Years later I realized that what I had experienced was another example of what the Bible said would happen: "Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you."?1 Peter 4:4.

When I first read this account, it became clear to me that this young man had rationalized the part he played in this crime. As he did not actually rape this young girl, but merely stood by and watched while his friends did, he obviously felt himself to be innocent of this crime. Obviously under US Law he was guilty as an accomplice 1) for not attempting to stop the crime 2) Not reporting the crime.

I wrote to the WTS regarding my concerns as the kind of message this article was sending out to any criminals who became JW?s. Should he not leave Bethel and walk into the nearest Police Precinct and admit to the fact that he had not tried to stop, and had not then reported this heinous crime.?

After a few weeks the WTS wrote back to me quoting the Apostle Paul?s words from Corinthians which state, after listing some religiously criminal acts, ?This is what some of you were? and suggesting that this matter was actually a matter of conscience and they would not discuss the incident with this person.

I wrote back to them and asked what one should do in the case of murder. Their reply was quite interesting, they suggested this must be reported as it was a more serious crime. The politics of sin, or the sin of politics?

Of course I rested easy knowing that this young man who had not reported this crime or tried to prevent this rape was suitably punished by his own peers, whom if you remember, called him ?vile names? - poor sod. As to the woman involved, well let us face it, she is due to die at Armageddon shortly anyway, so God will extinguish the memories of her misery and every JW can live happily ever after.

Well, Scooby doesn't seem to know why you BTTT'd for him, but I'm pleased you did, HS, for I'd otherwise have missed this post of yours.

This reminds me of what I call the "murder" letter from the Society to some elders who wanted to know what they should do about the brother in their congregation who had gotten away with murder before associating with the JWs. They weren't advised to turn this man in, either, nor even to encourage him to turn himself in. Which one would think to be the moral thing to do.

If I can find a link, I'll be back to add it here.

The letter may be found here: http://www.silentlambs.com/education/92_murder_letter.cfm and our discussion about it here: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/11/5424/1.ashx

Twisting the scriptures again and being the lying pieces of S*#T they are.....they confuse the reader. This scripture plainly showed it was a discussion to fellow believers who had ALREADY mended their ways.

This scripture was not patting on the back.......some slimebag who stood long enough to watch 2 men rape a woman, then be asked to join in.

It's no wonder 98% of witnesses are on anti-depressants to deal with the dislexia meal the WTBTS continually feds them.

They lied in this. They implied this scumbag had some kind of real deep love for jehovah deep in his heart, and that's why he was appalled at the idea of joining in. That's a flatass outright lie!

    Compare:

    *** w90 3/1 p. 30 Honesty Is the Best Policy ***

    Honesty Is the Best Policy

HONESTY is highly commended in the Bible and is a requirement for true Christians. (Matthew 22:39; 2 Corinthians 8:21) Moreover, honesty really is the best policy, as is demonstrated in the lives of many today whose minds and hearts have been transformed by accurate Bible knowledge. An example of this comes from Liberia.

After much prayerful consideration, a Christian elder and his wife closed their tailor shop. Why? Because it consumed too much of their time and hindered their ministerial activities and personal study. They agreed to be satisfied with a modest income derived from the sale of cloth dyes. Immediately after they took this step, however, dye prices fell on the local market. Their income now would not sustain the family. What would they do?

They asked the company supplying the dye to lower their prices, thus allowing a better margin of profit. This was refused. However, the company offered to send two invoices, one showing the actual price and the other a reduced price that they could present to Customs so as to pay less duty. This would allow the elder to enjoy $2,000 illegal profit on each consignment.

The brother refused to be part of an operation that was dishonest and would defraud the government. Company officials were surprised. They wrote: "We respect your conscience," and they appointed the elder sole agent for their product in Liberia. With the family?s material needs now adequately cared for, the elder and his wife have been able to auxiliary pioneer, working closely with the brothers to build up the congregation. Truly, their honesty proved to be a blessing for them.

Alfonso, in Spain, also found that honesty is the best policy. This lad left home at the age of 12, and before long he was selling drugs, as well as robbing cars, homes, and shops. Sometimes he robbed as many as ten stores in one day. At age 21, four of his associates severely beat him, stole his entire drug supply, and threatened to kill him if he reported them to the police. Since he was well-known by the police, he was even afraid to go to the hospital for treatment.

While slowly recovering from his wounds, Alfonso reflected seriously on his way of life. He remembered things about the Bible and Christian principles that his mother had told him when he was a child. Then, he had ignored her words, but now he requested a Bible study with Jehovah?s Witnesses. In six months he had completely changed his conduct and personality and qualified for baptism.

However, on the day before his baptism, he received a citation to appear in court to face a charge of armed robbery. It was a crime he had committed quite some time in the past. Nevertheless, Alfonso openly confessed the wrongdoing and was imprisoned pending trial. His defense lawyer urged him to state that he had not stolen anything and that he was not carrying a gun. But Alfonso insisted on telling the truth. Because of the offense and his bad police record, the prosecutor demanded a sentence of 13 years. But in view of his good conduct and honest attitude, he was given six months, which time he had already served while awaiting trial.

Now Alfonso and his wife serve Jehovah faithfully, happy to have found a real purpose in life and to have proved by their own experience that honesty is the best policy.
