These two have consistently been the "liberal" side to the writing dept.....who do you think are the hard liners...that change publications and articles to make them more restrictive.

There are definitely 2 camps in writing at the moment

The new "keep yourselves in gods love", the original draft was so different to the final book....Blood and disfellowshipping weren't even in the original draft.

Smalley, Aucilino.....perhaps. It can't be the writing committee...they don't seem to know their ass from their tail.

    What do you think?

Very interesting. Did you actually see an early draft of the book? Or you have a "contact on the inside"?

Also very interesting because the "2nd study book" that this one replaces, "Worship the Only True God", conspicuously dropped the chapter on blood from its predecessor, "United in Worship of the Only True God". Now its back in - could explain why the new "2nd study book" came out only a few years after the "Worship" book.

Definitely a schism going on. Wonder if the relaxing of standards (shorter meetings, fewer hours for pioneers) is the result of some sort of compromise between the 2 camps?

I've met Ianelli a couple of times. One of the best speakers in the organization, most definitely on the liberal side.

    Hi Sir82

Yes I saw the draft, back in Sept 2007 it was originally sent out to the main branch translation teams, then returned for major additions and deletions.

What returned was a different book, D.I was not happy that it had changed into a book of rules rather than what he saw as the principles we should be guided by. I would love to know who changed it.

D.I. has a talk that was eventually turned into an article. When the article came out I was shocked at how different it was from the talk, which I had heard numerous times.

If you read the article without hearing the talk first, you would think it was the best, most loving article ever. But knowing how much better and powerful the talk was, you could see how watered down the final WT article was.

Not surprised about your comment regarding the new book.

Unfortunately, Colin died within the last year. Just speculation, but should David find gainful employment, I believe he will withdraw his services.

I would vote Gene Smalley on Blood.

I am unsure who is the DFing/Associating WTS Nazi

I heard that Losch plays his views close to the vest but has anyone heard of conflicting views to Ted's? Losch seems the mostlikely prevailing personality once Ted is sidelined into the infimary or dies.

Does anybody know how the writing department works?

Are things submitted then reviewed by a committee, editor? Then it goes for GB "approval" (initial), I think.

    Always wondered.

I'm sure Smalley had something to do with it - he was and is a tight-ass. When I was at the house, Aulicino was a maverick who struck me as more liberal.
