There WERE no Jehovah's Witnesses before 1931. Only Bible Students.
You can't even get past the WT's "mission statement" without encountering untruth.

There was a thread not long ago which included scans of the January "Study Edition". Anybody know where it is?
I wonder who was publishing "the Truth" before 1879? Why did the Bible Students become apostate from that group? So many questions, so little time before the end.
Actually, Jehovah's Witnesses have been spreading precious gems of truth to the earth for almost 6,000 years, because Abel was the first Witness.

You bring up an excellent point. I remember in the media a former Witness made a huge mistake because she didn't realize that Jesus was not a Christian. And that Asians had a more continuous religion than Christianity, etc.
People truly don't understand how brainwashed and confused they have been. JW is a relatively new religion that has been renamed, and the reference of early Christians or early JWs is such a horrible falsehood, it shows how deep the mind control disinformation goes.
So, Jehovah's Witnesses go back to over 6,000, but most of the 144,000 were collected in only the last 120 years or so?
