Well, that's what my Elder told me. He said that Satan was directing the Magi to find Jesus so they might
report back to Herod who wanted Jesus killed. Has anyone else heard this? I find it disgusting for them to
make such a horrible statement like that.

...and yet, the NWT describes it as "His Star" meaning Jesus' Star !

Apparently, after this initial (lame) attempt at killing Jesus as a child, Satan just gave up. At any rate, if Satan did try to kill Jesus again in the following twenty-something years, those attempts were even lamer, and so didn't "make for exciting enough stories" to be written down...

make such a horrible statement like that."Yes... it's true. And when the 'wise men' (who were also astrologers - if I recall correctly) gave the parents of Jesus their gifts - the parents handed them back and said, "No thanks - we don't celebrate Christmas..."
The wise men were so impressed that they immediately asked for a bible study with the parents.
This was also the worlds 'longest bible study' - as they had to wait for Jesus to become a man - and become baptized - before they could get baptized.
Of course... this isn't documented in the bible - but using our 'powers of discernment' we are able to reason this out (aka - make it up)
