I saw John from Revelation at Bethel

  How lame was I that when I toured Bethel many years ago, I was all giddy when I saw the old man who was "John" from the WTBTS 'Revelation' book?
  
  "OOH! Look! It's the guy from the Revelation book!", I exclaimed.
  "Would you like to meet him?", said the tour guide.
  "Sure", I responded like a kid about to get an autograph from his favorite athlete.
  
  Also, there is an elder (PO, in fact) from my ex-congregation who is a millionaire. He and/or his wife and kid have graced the covers of WTs/Awake's several times. I guess if you donate enough you can have your 15 minutes of JW fame.

  Any of you know anybody like this? Or, have you met any of the "stand-ins" who appear in cartoon fashion in the WTS publictions?

  I have known a few but never ever thought any more of them. No one around here treated them different or even talked about it.

  I always wonder if those perons with experiences and pictures like sometimes on the back of the WT or AWake are real. Does any one know any of them?

  I met Ulysses Glass (John) when I was (much) younger. (Didn't ask for his autograph though --LOL)

  He was a friend of a well connected JW Uncle.

  Funny, I was recently thinking why they take pictures, then have people paint them.

  With photoshop, you can render a photo into a painting fairly easily.

  Anywho, yeah, I know a few bethelites who posed for the watchtower.

  Also, when I toured bethel in April, on our tour, we met one of the guys from one of the WT videos. woo hooo.

  The funny thing about the wife of the millionaire elder is that she has a huMONgous head. One time they did a family photo on the front of a WT and her head continued on the back cover.

  Yes, we knew David Lay. He was in several magazines. If I remember correctly, one was about how to cope losing your job. I can't remember the others anymore.
