FYI: Portland television reports that the questions being asked of potential jurors in the Longo case are focusing on the JW practice of shunning. They are also being questioned about possible bias due to the Bryant and Morris family murders. Here is the link:http://katu.com/news/story.asp?ID=55064

If I'm reading the story correctly, it is Longo's lawyers who are asking the jurors whether they are familiar with the JW's practice of shunning. Presumably, they are hoping to eliminate from the jury anyone who answers in the affirmative. This would seem to be a tacit admission that the practice of shunning among JW's is so heinous that the jury would be prejudiced by their knowledge of it.

That doesn't really make sense, as his only real defense would be that the practice of shunning was such a burden on him, it drove him to comit the murders.(Obviously, a long shot, but how exactly would YOU defend someone who killed his entire family?)

If they pick twelve jurors who know nothing about the WT, then that'll be 12 more that DO KNOW THE TRUTH when its over. Goodcause they'll tell 2 friends and they'll tell 2 friends and so on and so on. Good.
