Again, as before, many many thanks to Fokyc for the scans; I've PDF'd them and made them searchable.

There is mention of 1914 in this edition and mention of 144,000.

I'll make no more comments until you've had a chance to read it.

We thought it might be interesting to compare the new formats (Study vs Public)

Many thanks to both of you!

    p. 8:

The presence is invisible to human eyes. Remember, Jesus discussed the sign of his presence. (Matthew 24:3) If his presence were visible to human eyes, would a sign be needed? To illustrate: Imagine that you are traveling to see the ocean. You may see road signs directing you along the way, but once you are at the shore, standing at the water's edge with the vast expanse of water stretching out to the horizon, would you expect to see a sign with a big arrow pointing ahead, emblazoned with the word "Ocean"? Of course not! Why have a sign to point out what you can easily identify with your eyes?

Actually, this is a good analogy of Matthew 24: Yes, in verse 3 the sign is mentioned. Then Jesus explains the signs that point forward to his coming, and in verse 30b-31 he arrives in a dramatic way that does not remain unnoticed and would certainly not need a big arrow saying "Jesus". However, this implies (contrary to WT teachings) that the ocean (i.e. Jesus) is actually at the shore and not along the road.

Also, I truly love verse 23, cf. Luke 21:8.

    p. 15:

Evolution presents modern man as an improving animal.

No, it doesn't. It presents man as a changing animal.

Thanks AO! I can't seem to find a page 5 though!? I think it might be invisible like Jesus' presence! :)

It definitely reads different to the former Watchtowers. It's like reading 'What does the bible really teach?' very similar in style.

On 1914, I found it's one mention a bit vague. It doesn't say specifically the last days have been going on since 1914, it says:

"Such visible evidence of Satan's rage and of Christ's presence has been abundant in our time. Especially since 1914, a year that historians acknowledge was a turning point, has this evidence appeared on an unprecedented and global scale."
I'm not even sure what that quote is trying to say. What point did we turn to? What historians is it referring to? All of them?

607 is ignored, and their main tool of evidence for Jesus' presence is empirical.

Then there's the article on evolution which says scientists only believe in evolution because they don't want to accept there's a God, which I'm sure the JWD evolutionists will be pleased with! :) I found it funny that it quotes Michael Behe, since he believes in theist directed evolution himself. Odd.

Will be looking at this shortly, as soon as it downloads.

So, can't you get in trouble for providing this for us? I thought WTS was strict on passing material through the internet?

ZICO... good to see you again. Page 5 can only be seen by the anointed.

Working on getting it - I'll re upload it again.

BiteMe... I guess that it is okay as the Magazine is free and for public use. Apparantly even the Study Edition is available at public meetings (or so the intro says).

Of course, you are encouraged to make a donation via www.jwgift.org

I spotted that too. It just hints that things have been easier to see since 1914.

The story in there also states what I've read else where that many former catholics have become JW's why is that? Are the beliefs similar that they look to JW's beliefs for more comfort. I don't even understand the catholics views of stuff. I'm not even going to start exploring that one.
