Who many anointed were there in 1992 ?

Hi everyone, according to some Dubs, the year on year increases the annointed is attributal to annointed ones in countrys previously not able to register, for example in former USSR,since the Iron Curtain came down in circa 1990, i would like to have information regarding the Numbers from around this time and onwards, and if you have any comments on these assertions from the Dubs, I would appreciate them, Regards

Dubs are in a habit of inventing facts.

If one ever tells you something that doesn't sound quite right, get them to promise to back it up with the appropriate paperwork by a set date.

When the date has passed ..... you want to talk about it again.

The 1937 figures can be seen in the 1938 Informant (they were used to compare with the 1938 figures), but I'd still like to see the ones given in 1937 itself. Some of the numbers you give above (from the '30s and '40s) must be the incomplete ones and that's why the numbers seem to be erratic. Complete ones can often be seen in the comparisons with the next years' totals.

I've been wanting to fill in the gap years from the Proclaimers book (p.717) - 1935 to 1940, both attendance and partakers - in view of what was said in another thread about the 'great crowd' not being invited to the Memorial until the special invitation in 1938, and I was curious to see how the 1935 doctrine change affected both attendance and partaking for 1936 and 1937.

It's interesting to see that both figures dropped dramatically in those two years. It's also a little strange that the Proclaimers book figures for 1935 and 1940 do not quite match up with the Informant figures - as if the Proclaimers researchers used a different source.

Anyway, if you can fix those links, that would be helpful. Thanks :-)

AnnOMaly: Hi Ann! So good to hear from you again. The 1936 Informant gives the totals for the previous year of 1935. Please look right under the word "Themselves" at the top heading. You will see this: "More than 71,000 attended the Memorial, whereas 53,835 partook." http://2mb.su/7593/ Look at the "Total Testimony Period" at the very bottom of the scan above and it shows 1935 figures. The number 53,835 had to be a "worldwide" figure, because the 1936 Yearbook gives the number of 27 ,006 as the total of partakers. But the 27,006 figure must refer to partakers in the United States only. http://2mb.su/7592/ The 1937 Yearbook gives the totals for 1936. Look at "Partakers" and look to your right for grand totals. The number should have been 25,678 not 27,006. That was my error. I looked to far to the right. The previous year totals were all the way over to the right, but not in this report.
