Wow, DOs are being discontinued and demoted and they spin it to sound like a good thing. Wonder if anyone of them will be thinking "don't pee on me and tell me it's raining". Bit of a loss of status, bet many of the wives won't care for that.

What is the heirarchy? What is the DO in relation to other positions? Are they living off the coongregations and WTBTS stipend?

Thanks WT87.......interesting. I guesss it will save them money by removing a layer of management , and the costs of cars etc... It would be better to have an experienced ex D/O visiting the cong than some of the "cloned" ex Pioneer School sprogs that I have seen lately.

Better for who, the WT love the cloned sprongs that are "Yes men" management. I think the newer pioneer school graduates might be more sincere and actually care about the publishers and find out policies are damaging. I think many younger caring COs have left the org I have heard of a few they are still young enough to get careers in the real world.
I think it's better for WT to have older DOs doing the COs jobs as they are already insitutionalised and are loyally dependent on WT, The new CO graduates have to be corrupt to last as COs, I am sure there is too much CD for young couples going into the work now.

The implication always was, that all 'theocratic' work, positions, setups would be training, an introduction for the big things to come in the new world. but
What they are telling us now is, that the future will be WT FREE;
gone will be the GB aka FADS,--- DOs,
may be all, who knows?

In the real world when your position is phased out, you get any savings, social security and investments that you've accumulated. When WT retires you, you get absolutely NOTHING!

That would explain why our current DO telling was telling a group during the CA lunchbreak that he was being assigned to a congregation. They, of course will receive a "modest monthly stipend" as special pioneers, but no more Buick LaCrosse?
