I am not a Jehovah's Witness. I do however have an interst in various religions. As I understand it, the WTS when translating the NWT used the Emphatic Diaglott by Benjamin Wilson. Does anyone know where I am able to find a copy? all I can find online are scanned copies and I would like a hardcopy for my personal collection. I am interested in all different beliefs but focus on WTS and LDS, and SDA. if there are any other books that I just have to have please let me know. I have Reasoning from the Scriptures, and the NWT. But the Emphatic Diaglott is the book I want most desperately right now just don't know where to obtain it. Thanks.

To get them free go study with a JW and go to meetings for a few months and order them while never donating....or ask a current JW to stick it to the man and order these(takes like 60 days) and not donate....maybe offer to pay shipping.

If you are interested in understanding their religion, and if you feel strong enough to resist psychological manipulation, you could do as Diest said and go to their meetings. You will find some interesting behavioral phenomena such as, if you ask them for the following literature that they currently use for the sake of understanding them better, they will most likely refuse to provide you with it:

    Books:

    Organized To Do Jehovah's Will

Benefit From Theocratic Ministry School Training

Shepherd The Flock Of God (previous version was called Pay Attention To Yourselves And All The Flock)

    Periodicals:

    Our Kingdom Ministry

It might be interesting to hear their response if you ask them why they will not provide you with this material. The main reference work they use to explain their doctrines is a two-volume encyclopedia-style book set called "Insight On The Scriptures." Also, the WT provides members with a CD-ROM containing most of the books and literature going back to around the 1960's. Once again, if you ask them for a copy of the CD-ROM, they will most likely refuse or insist that an active Jehovah's Witness print out for you only material from the CD-ROM that he/she feels is relevant to a particular question you might ask. This is one way they control the situation as you attempt to gather information.

That is incredibly helpful. Thanks! I'll try to get ahold of a buddy where I used to live. He's nominal practicing at best but still goes to all the meetings. maybe he could get ahold of them for me.
