Josephus and other non bible sources say Moses was an excellent Egyptian Military commander who defeated the Ethiopians. Now while I'm re-reading these bible accounts I get the feeling that Moses was a brutal and smart Military man. As the "meekest man" on earth he invaded many nations killing all the inhabitants, taking their land {promised by Jehovah} spoils and virgins. The fact he passed on leadership to another Military General Joshua is also suspect. What do you think.

from what I have read there is strong evidence that:
1) Moses, or Mose, is a title, not a name
2) Moses of the bible is 2 people (this is backed up by many factors, the fact that the 'mose' character is has more than 1 father in law, but not more than 1 wife etc.)
3) One character was likely to be a priest that started the monotheistic jewish religion, another a prince

Exodus states Moses had a Midianite wife and lived with the Medians???? Hmmmm!

its not that confusing, it moses is just a title, like "the king" - you could say in a history book
1) the king was 6' tall and had a wife called Janeand later on in the book
2) the kind was 5' tall and had a wife called Jill
Just different people.

Meek does not mean dumb, incompetent or weakling. While I do not know myself, a History channel presentation depicted the Israelites as very competent warriors and an extension of the Egyptian military for a long time that guarded its northern borders before they were finally enslaved by the then ruling Pharaoh who acted in fear of them and their skills.
