Max Hatton's 1960s study into the WTS chronology

In the early 1960s, a Jehovah's Witness named Max Hatton was living and working in Albany, a town on the southern coast of Western Australia. When he was challenged by SDA Geoff Rogerson, who lived in the nearby township of Denmark, about the Watchtower Society's neo-Babylonian chronology, Max investigated Geoff's claims.

After four years of intensive research, Max resigned his position as a "servant in the Organisation".

Max documented the result of his research, and his 77-page study is remarkable and deserves to be widely known. It is quite likely that the copies Max and I have are two of very few copies that now exist. Almost as rare as hen's teeth.

    It is available at http://www.filesend.net/download.php?f=65fe2b9dbaed62103310b74e3e6e4923

I know that I said I would provide his work at a previous thread, but it deserves its own.

Max provides some of his correspondence with the WTS at the time at his site: http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/mhattonSDA/JEHOVAH'S%20WITNESSES%20AND%201914.htm

Thank you so much for sharing this, Doug! One to add to the collection. Hubby has Hatton's book on 'Understanding the Trinity' from 2001. So ... another one who wrote the Society and told them their 607/1914 chronology was bogus. This is what I find interesting: how many times have they been informed? Over and over again since nearly this movement's beginning (the series of 1922 WT articles shouting down criticisms, for example) this has been brought to their attention, and over and over again they have stonewalled, demonized, intimidated, belittled and/or expelled the whistleblowers, choosing falsehood over truth.

Thanks, Doug, for sharing this file with us! Its author evidently has done some great research. Even though it's a bit dated, its argumentation today is still forceful!

    Hi Doug Mason

Very interesting your post regarding Hatton's findings. I didn't know anything about him untill reading your post. I've read also that he's mencioned in Edmond C. Gruss' book on JW. D

Because all this issue took place in the earlies 60s, I wonder whether Carl Olof Jonsson did know already about Hatton's work? Anyone knows?

    Regards
