Great interviews. Thanks for posting. Lots of good stuff. One of the most telling comments was when Steven Hassan said in reference to the release of his book, Combatting Cult Mind Control,

"I think almost every cult leader bought a copy and read it."

I think it is very likely that the WTBTS leadership has read his books. It would explain how and why they've instituted some of the policies they have to insulate themselves and their membership:

    • The Internet is bad: Avoid it, except of course jw.org ...
    • Do NOT talk to former JWs, whether DF'd, DA'd or merely inactive (faded)
    • Avoid all apostates, they are "mentally diseased"
    • Make no friendships with "worldly people" - workmates, schoolmates, neighbors and EVEN FAMILY MEMBERS

I know some of these policies were in place before Hassan's books, but the WTBTS certainly has turned up the volume on these practices and policies in recent years.

Here's a great quote for those of us that still have loved ones in the cult:

    • People leave when there's a door that's open in their mind and they realize that they can have a life and not be a slave.

He then goes on to talking about working with a Born-in JW.

    It's in the video interview Part 4 @ 5:18
