    Hi,

    I just watched this

NBC Jehovah's Witnesses child sexual abuse

Whilst watching I was draw to the NTW Romans 10:13 which was on the wall.

Never having been in a "kingdom hall" is this on the wall in every kingdom hall?

To tell the truth, reading it made me angry.

The preceding two verses say this

9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

So it the Lord "Jehovah" or Jesus who saves us? Let's double check

    Acts 16:31 (New International Version)

31 They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household."

    Acts 15:11 (New International Version)

11 No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are."

    Acts 4:10-12 (New International Version)

10 then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. 11 He is
" 'the stone you builders rejected,
which has become the capstone. [ a ] ' [ b ] 12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

For sure, look like Jesus is the one who saves, not "jehovah".

So is this false translation of Rom 10:13 plastered on every "kingdom hall" in large letters?

    All the best,

    Stephen

That's probably the Year's Text... a scripture that changes every year.

I had to go look up what the NWT says to understand what you're talking about.

NWT: For “everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved.”

And basically all other bibles say "name of the LORD". Yeah, the WTS likes to insert Jehovah all over the place. You never noticed that before?

Well there are two important things to note.

    1. Jesus is the only name by which we are saved Acts 4:12

    2. By Paul quoting Joel 2:32 it is clear that Jesus is the same as YHWH ("Jehovah") in the OT.

    All the best,

    Stephen

The WTS uses "Jehovah" in Joel 2:32 as well.

Maybe you already know this, but you can look up scriptures in the twisted NWT bible here:

Isn't it time you (or, we) stopped such same arguments?

    Mr. Chalam.
For you, "Jesus is Jehovah," is it?

You say, "Jesus is the same as YHWH."

Then, why do you get angry?

When you say "Jesus saves us", it is the same as saying "Jehovah saves us."
It is ridiculous that you say repeatedly, "Jesus is the one who saves, not "jehovah"."

One other sickening aspect is that it seems like Jehovah doesn't give a rat's ass about all of the children who were molested in the congregation. I imagine they all called out to Him, and not only were they not saved but also revictimized by the two witness rule. Assholes!

    Hi, Mr. Chalam.

    Thank you for your reply.

I interpret the Bible entirely symbolically and figuratively.
So, even if you and I look at the same Scriptures, probably interpretations of you and me are different, respectively.

For me, Jesus is "I AM."
But probably it is different from your interpretation.

I, an individual, think that the 21st century is not fundamentalists' period, IMHO
I hope people "graduate" from the view of fundamentalism.

    Chalam,

They pick out a theme text from Frederick Franz and hang it on the wall in all congregations for a year. I don't call it the bible or scripture because Fred Franz single-handedly wrote the New World Translation. Neither do I call any text "the bible" that is based on the Alexandrian manuscripts. I was unaware that millons of Christians have this same view until recently.

You can read about the history of the NWT at my website here:

What is you connection with JW's. Are you just an "interested one"?

    Thank you for your posts.
