  Youths who gave up amazing lives

  when i was growing up i remember many young people interviewed on the platform at assemblies.

  the ones who really stood out are the talented ones who gave up amazing lives to pioneer.. i remember specifically when i was a boy in the 70s and 80s some who were very good at sport or something.

  their teachers begged them to get professional training use their talents to the full.

  This post immediately reminded me of an Awake cover article displaying the pictures of young people that died after refusing blood. It still makes me sad,

  I looked for the article but I'm headed out to an appointment I'll have to look later.

  Green Handshakes - Taxable income in Australia

  i was doing some research on the taxable status of money being gifted to co’s and travelling missionaries and was surprised with what i found.

  i had assumed that it was not taxable income in australia.. it is taxable income in australia and it‘s likely that the same rules apply in some other countries.. a registered religious institution only receives tax free status on donations because they have been endorsed by the australian tax office.

  travelling overseas and missionaries are not in this category.. there’s a tax ruling that goes into great detail.

  In the USA the receiver of gifts is not subject to income tax (unless there is a gift tax in their state) though it must not be a "gift" for services such as performing a wedding, baptism, or funeral as then it becomes taxable as earned income. The giver of the gift however is subject to certain limitations, here is a comment from H&R Blocks site:

  How much can a person give to another person tax-free?

  Gradually making smaller gifts: Each year, taxpayers can gift up to what is called the “annual exclusion amount” (in 2025, $19,000 per donor per recipient; $38,000 for married couples) without incurring the gift tax.

  Special Talk just prior to the Memorial

  is the sunday special talk prior to the memorial just an introduction of a new outline for the sunday public talks?.

  is it an attempt to get the faders back to the meetings?

  they present in a way like some new light is going to be presented at the special talk..

  The dubs have used and overused the "special" so many times it's become annoying. Remember the big deal hype about the special release coming at a district convention....? It turned out to be Kingdom News 16(?) a 4 page tract for another special door to door campaign and of course it was followed by more specials of some sort. Does anyone even remember the content?

  Did Watchtower Really Teach That Armageddon Was Coming in 1954?

  in the march 2025 jw broadcast david splane in his morning worship talk mentioned that "some thought" that armageddon would come 40 years after 1914. such statements are usually meant to shift the blame of their own false predictions on to their members for speculating.

  however, i was unable to find anything in print showing that such a thing was indeed taught by the society.

  was this really a thing?.

  i swear, you can't make this shit up!

  for years and years growing up in this cult, i had to constantly hear from my parents, from the stage, in the literature, about "keeping your eye simple", not being "materialistic", not "having a showy display of one's wealth.

  " of course, this never seemed to apply to the wealthy business owning elduhzzzz who ran and lorded it out over the congregations, but i digress.

  When I did some extended temp work in the early 80's I got some flack from a few over my Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust and my rings. Too bad for them. If they knew what it is they would really squawk over my white gold Rolex Daytona that I also have now. Unless you know you wouldn't know it's an expensive watch.

  Remember Mr. Coffee going off on some people, "another new suit this one has, $14 dollars a month, suckers, robots"?

  Wonder if Jodi still has real estate holdings?

  PRESIDENTIAL predictions...let the prognosticators have their say!

  my only prowess in making predictions stems from my 77-years of life in the united statesgrowing up under president truman, eisenhower, kennedy, nixon, .....etc.

  etc.i was a widdle kid sitting in front of a tiny black and white tv set when the very first broadcastsof political conventions, deal-making, debates (nixon vs kennedy), assassinations (jfk, rfk, martin luther king, etc.

  ) i grew up with duck and cover under my elementary schooldesk, the cold war, the iron curtain, the korean war, the vietnam war and i went to federal prisonas a jw conscientious objector while hippies, flower children, political activists protested and universitystudents were fired up on by troops.i grew up reading newspapers (2 of them).

  he will not pressure her to engage in sexual acts that make her feel uncomfortable, that are demeaning, or that bother her conscience..... the bible does not provide details as to what sexual practices between a husband and a wife should be considered clean or unclean.

  a christian couple must make decisions that reflect their resolve to honor jehovah, to please each other, and to maintain a clean conscience.

  generally speaking, a couple would not discuss with others this intimate aspect of their marriage..

  out of curiosity, i went to the jw website to see if they had posted anything about helene, it's damage, and what their relief plans may be, i any.

  i looked in the news and in video sections to see if there were any postings.

  i couldn't find anything.
